Arlington Heights, IL – The Arlington Heights Police Department (AHPD) has kicked off its annual Toys for Tots drive, encouraging residents to bring in new, unwrapped toys to help children in need. The drive runs through December 14, with drop-off bins available in the AHPD lobby and at Village Hall.
According to AHPD, donations must be new and in original packaging, as the program cannot accept stuffed animals or gift-wrapped toys. The department specifically requests that donors avoid stuffed animals after an overwhelming response of plush toys last year.
Officer A. Fontana oversees the collection efforts, aiming to bring joy to local children during the holiday season. “Every toy donated brings a smile to a child in need,” Fontana stated, emphasizing the positive community impact.
To participate, residents can visit the AHPD at 200 E. Sigwalt St. For further details, contact Officer Fontana at afontana@vah.com.
