LITTLE ROCK, AR – Arkansas residents face hazardous winter weather through Wednesday morning as snow, ice, and freezing temperatures grip the state. Little Rock and surrounding areas will see a mix of freezing rain and snow, with temperatures plunging to single-digit wind chills overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until early Wednesday, with snow accumulations of up to 6 inches possible, especially near the Arkansas-Missouri border. A Cold Weather Advisory is also in place from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, warning of wind chills as low as -5°F in northern Arkansas and near 0°F in central regions, including Little Rock.

Travel on major routes like I-40 and I-30 will be hazardous due to icy conditions and reduced visibility. Drivers are urged to use caution, limit travel, and allow extra time for commutes.

By Wednesday afternoon, skies will clear, but temperatures will remain cold with a high near 29°F. The state will see a warming trend beginning Thursday, with sunny skies and temperatures rising to the 60s by Monday. Residents should take precautions to prevent frozen pipes and check on vulnerable neighbors during the cold snap.
