Arkansas Weather Alert: Showers and Thunderstorms Expected Midweek – What to Expect

Little Rock, AR – A warm and sunny start to the week will give way to increasing rain chances and thunderstorms by midweek. Highs will reach the low 70s Monday and Tuesday before showers begin developing Tuesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20% chance of showers Tuesday afternoon and evening, increasing to 40% by Wednesday night. A cold front moving through the region could bring thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday, with gusty winds and heavy rain possible.

Temperatures will remain mild, with highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s through Thursday before cooling into the upper 50s Friday. Winds will be breezy at times, with gusts up to 25 mph midweek.

Drivers should prepare for slick roads and potential delays during peak storm hours Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Flooding concerns will continue for area rivers, including the Black, Cache, Ouachita, and White Rivers.
