Arkansas Tornado Warning: Severe Weather Hits Springdale and Fayetteville Until 1:45 AM

Springdale, AR – A confirmed tornado is causing damage in northeastern Benton and nearby areas, prompting an ongoing warning until 1:45 AM CDT on April 19, 2025.

The National Weather Service reported at 1:17 AM CDT that a tornado was located 3 miles southeast of Lowell, moving northeast at 45 mph. The tornado is accompanied by quarter-size hail, and residents in the impacted areas are urged to take immediate shelter.

According to the NWS, locations in the path of the tornado include Springdale, Fayetteville, War Eagle, Beaver Lake, Johnson, and other surrounding towns. Interstate 49, between mile markers 69 and 81, is also affected.

The danger of flying debris and potential damage to homes, vehicles, and trees remains a significant risk. Those in mobile homes or vehicles are advised to seek substantial shelter. Authorities have confirmed the tornado’s presence through broadcast media, and it is expected to move quickly.

Residents are urged to move to interior rooms or basements in sturdy buildings and avoid windows. For those outside or in mobile homes, find shelter immediately to protect against hazardous debris.
