Shreveport, LA – Residents across the Four State Region of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma are facing another hot day today, with high temperatures reaching into the mid-90s and only isolated chances for storms.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, much of the area will remain dry Wednesday, though widely scattered showers and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Rain chances are generally around 15% across the region, with little relief from the heat expected in the short term.

Meteorologists say that changes may be on the horizon. A weather pattern shift is possible next week, which could bring increased rain chances and somewhat milder conditions. “Our region will go from being under the influence of a ridge of high pressure to a trough of low pressure,” the NWS explained in its latest update. This shift would impact the entire Four State Region, creating better opportunities for rainfall and lowering daily highs.

Uncertainty remains on timing and exact impacts, but forecasters stress that residents should prepare for continued heat this week, followed by a potentially wetter and cooler stretch as early as next week.
