Shreveport, LA – A strong storm system is expected to impact parts of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma on Sunday, bringing the threat of damaging winds, large hail, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Shreveport, confidence is increasing in the likelihood of severe thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and continuing through the evening and overnight hours. The highest risk for severe weather is concentrated near and southeast of the Interstate 30 corridor.

Forecasters warn that wind gusts capable of causing structural damage and large hail remain the primary threats. Additionally, while not the most likely outcome, isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Heavy rainfall may also lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas.

Residents in affected areas should stay weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive alerts. The NWS urges people to review their severe weather plans and ensure they have access to safe shelter if warnings are issued.

The storm system is part of a broader pattern of unsettled weather across the Four State Region. Further updates and refined forecasts will be provided as conditions develop. Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather reports and heed any advisories issued by emergency management officials.
