Arkansas – A rainy and breezy Saturday is in store for much of the state before warmer, sunnier conditions arrive Sunday. The wet weather will be short-lived, setting the stage for a pleasant start to daylight saving time as clocks spring forward overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances increase Saturday morning, with scattered showers expected across central Arkansas, including Little Rock and areas along I-40. Winds will shift from the southwest to the northeast, reaching gusts up to 20 mph. Saturday’s high will be in the mid-50s, cooler than recent days.

Showers will taper off Saturday night, but lingering clouds and a 70% chance of precipitation remain. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 40s. By Sunday, skies will clear, and sunshine will return with highs near 60°F. Winds will calm, making for a pleasant day to adjust to the time change.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday will bring continued warming, with highs reaching the low 70s. Dry conditions will persist through midweek before another round of showers develops Wednesday.

Residents should prepare for slick roads Saturday and secure any outdoor items ahead of the gusty winds. With the time change Sunday, it’s also a great reminder to check smoke alarms and other home safety devices.
