Searcy, AR – A former jail captain from Little River County has been arrested in connection with a felony sexual assault investigation, according to Arkansas State Police (ASP).
On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, ASP Criminal Investigation Division agents took Kenneth Lee Vaughn, 53, of Ashdown, into custody after an investigation revealed he allegedly engaged in sexual contact with an inmate during transport through White County. The inmate was being moved to an Arkansas Department of Corrections facility at the time.
According to ASP, Vaughn surrendered to authorities at the White County Detention Center, where he was booked and charged with felony third-degree sexual assault. His bond was set at $25,000.
The incident involves the Little River County Jail, where Vaughn previously served as captain. ASP stated that the investigation remains ongoing and additional details may be released as the case develops.
