Little Rock, AR – Flash flood warnings remain in effect across multiple states, including Arkansas, Illinois, and Missouri, as severe thunderstorms continue to produce intense rainfall rates of up to 3 inches per hour. The National Weather Service warns that flash flooding could become life-threatening, particularly in urban and low-lying areas.

In Arkansas, counties such as Pulaski, Faulkner, and Conway are seeing rainfall rates that are causing flash flooding along streets and highways. The storm, which is impacting Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Conway, is expected to persist overnight. Additional rainfall is expected through Saturday, further saturating already waterlogged grounds.

Illinois is also under a flash flood warning, particularly in Hamilton, White, Gallatin, and Saline counties, where rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches have been recorded, with more expected. Areas such as Harrisburg and Carmi are seeing rapidly rising water levels, creating hazardous travel conditions.

Missouri’s Dunklin County is experiencing similar conditions, with thunderstorms continuing to bring heavy rain, raising the risk of flash flooding. Malden and Corning are expected to be among the hardest-hit areas.

Motorists across all affected regions are urged to avoid flooded roads and be cautious when driving at night. Flooding is expected to last into Saturday morning.
