Poplar Grove, Ark. – A Poplar Grove man faces charges today following a holiday weekend shooting that allegedly resulted in the death of one individual and left another hospitalized, authorities said.

According to the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Phillips County Road 113 at approximately 2:15 a.m. Saturday. Officials said the incident occurred early Saturday morning as local residents celebrated the extended holiday weekend.

William “Red” Henderson, 38, was allegedly transported from the scene and pronounced dead at Helena Regional Medical Center, according to law enforcement. A second victim, described as a 47-year-old man, was reportedly driven to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle and remains in stable condition.

The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office said CID Company A Special Agents arrested Decorick Farr, 41, of Poplar Grove, and charged him with first-degree murder in connection with the alleged shooting. Farr was booked into the Phillips County Detention Center, where he remains in custody pending further investigation.
