Little Rock, AR – A calm Monday in Arkansas gives way to clear skies tonight, but significant rainfall is expected midweek. Residents should prepare for potentially hazardous road conditions starting Wednesday as a slow-moving storm system brings heavy rain statewide.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Tuesday will remain mostly sunny with highs near 60°F and lows dropping to the low 40s overnight. By Wednesday, rain showers will develop and intensify, potentially exceeding four inches in some areas through Friday. Drivers, particularly on major highways like I-40, should anticipate slick roads and reduced visibility during peak rain periods.

The heaviest rainfall is expected Thursday night, with localized flooding possible in low-lying areas. Southeast winds could gust up to 20 mph, further complicating travel.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from the NWS and ensure gutters and drainage systems are clear to minimize flooding risks. Temperatures will stabilize, with highs nearing 64°F by Friday before cooler conditions return over the weekend.

Stay weather-aware and plan ahead to avoid potential road delays during this wet weather stretch.
