La Crosse, WI – Breezy weather will continue across western Wisconsin Tuesday, with wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph in some areas. Residents west of the Mississippi River, particularly in open or unsheltered regions, should prepare for the strongest winds. Temperatures will climb to the upper 40s but will feel much colder due to the brisk winds.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s winds will increase during the morning, reaching 15 to 25 mph by the afternoon, with occasional gusts of up to 40 mph. Travelers should exercise caution, especially on highways like I-90, as high-profile vehicles could face challenges. Residents are urged to secure lightweight outdoor items, such as garbage bins and patio furniture, to prevent them from being blown away.

Looking ahead, Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies but cooler temperatures, with a high near 37. Winds will calm significantly by midweek. Thursday offers a break with sunny skies and a high near 53, but temperatures will dip again Friday.
