Flagstaff, AZ – Breezy conditions and cooler temperatures are on the horizon for Flagstaff residents as a dry cold front pushes through Arizona today. Winds from the northwest are expected to pick up Monday afternoon, with gusts reaching 25 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
By Tuesday, the region will feel a noticeable drop in temperatures, with highs only reaching the upper 30s. Overnight lows will plunge to the mid-teens, making it one of the coldest nights of the season so far. Wind speeds will taper off by the evening, but residents are urged to secure loose items and prepare for cooler conditions.
The week ahead remains mostly clear but chilly. Wednesday’s high will rise to 51 degrees, with calmer winds from the northeast. Temperatures will continue to climb slightly into Thursday and Friday, reaching the low 50s. However, forecasters indicate that snow chances may return to Flagstaff late Friday into Saturday as another system approaches.
Motorists traveling along I-40 and State Route 89 should remain cautious of gusty winds today and prepare for potentially icy conditions later this week. Those venturing outdoors are advised to dress warmly, as wind chills may make temperatures feel even colder.
Stay tuned for updates on the developing weekend snow forecast.
