Flagstaff, Arizona – Temperatures across northern Arizona are set to soar into the 90s through Thursday, with Sedona, Winslow, and Holbrook among the hottest spots before a mild cooldown moves in for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, a high-pressure system is building over the state and will peak midweek, sending daytime highs into the upper 80s and low 90s across much of the region. Sedona is forecast to reach 91°F Wednesday and Thursday, while Winslow and Kayenta could climb to 91°F or higher through midweek.

The heat will impact much of the I-40 corridor, with Page, Holbrook, and Seligman all seeing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above seasonal averages. Overnight lows will remain mild, mostly in the 40s and 50s, offering some overnight relief.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and avoid leaving pets or children in vehicles. Outdoor workers should take frequent shade breaks and monitor for signs of heat exhaustion.

Temperatures are expected to ease slightly by Friday, with most cities dropping back into the 70s and 80s over the weekend. Another update is expected by Thursday as cooling trends take shape.
