According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, showers will begin after 2 p.m. Sunday with an 80% chance of thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 25 mph Sunday night. Rainfall totals may reach up to half an inch, with isolated higher amounts in thunderstorm zones. Temperatures will peak near 93°F before cooling to the upper 70s overnight.

Localized impacts could include slick roads, minor flooding in low-lying areas, and reduced visibility during evening travel. Maricopa County residents, especially those in Glendale and Tempe, should stay alert for lightning and sudden wind shifts. Outdoor plans may need to shift indoors late Sunday.

Showers will taper off by Monday morning, with a drier and mostly sunny week ahead. Temperatures are forecast to climb steadily, reaching 100°F by Thursday, signaling an early arrival of summer heat.
