Flagstaff, AZ – Northern Arizona is bracing for heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions as a winter storm moves through the region. Multiple winter weather alerts are in effect, with snow accumulation expected to reach up to 12 inches in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, a Winter Storm Warning is in place for the Western Mogollon Rim, including Flagstaff and Munds Park, from 11 PM Thursday through 5 PM Friday. Snowfall of 6 to 12 inches is expected, with wind gusts reaching 50 mph, leading to dangerous driving conditions.

Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for the Kaibab Plateau, Black Mesa, Chuska Mountains, and Defiance Plateau, including Window Rock and Ganado. Snowfall amounts will range from 3 to 10 inches, depending on elevation, with the heaviest snow falling through Friday evening.
