Flagstaff, AZ – Spring weather in Northern Arizona is bringing lingering snow showers to Flagstaff through Saturday night, creating travel concerns along I-40 and nearby roadways.

According to the National Weather Service, a 60 percent chance of snow showers is expected Friday after 11 a.m., with accumulation likely under half an inch. Light winds will shift from the northeast to the west, gusting as high as 17 mph. By Saturday, another round of snow could hit before noon. Drivers should prepare for slick conditions and reduced visibility, especially early in the day.

The weekend wraps up with a major temperature shift. By Sunday, skies turn sunny and highs reach the upper 50s. A full spring warm-up arrives Monday with highs near 63°F and dry skies. Tuesday climbs further, reaching the low 70s—more than 10 degrees above average.

Overnight lows will dip into the low 20s through Saturday night before warming gradually. Residents should watch for patchy fog and black ice during morning commutes.

Travelers along I-40 and local mountain routes should carry emergency supplies and allow extra time. Snowfall may be light, but road conditions can change quickly in higher elevations.

By midweek, spring truly settles in. Daytime highs hit the 70s Tuesday and Wednesday with mild winds and no precipitation in sight.

Stay updated through the weekend via the National Weather Service or local DOT road alerts for changing conditions across Flagstaff and Coconino County.
