Hurley, WI – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Iron County as heavy snow is expected to continue through early Saturday morning, potentially accumulating up to 8 inches in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, the advisory, issued Thursday night, forecasts total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches across most of the Hurley area, with localized amounts reaching 8 inches. The snowfall is anticipated to create hazardous travel conditions, particularly during the Friday morning and evening commutes.
Residents are urged to drive with caution and check updated road conditions through Wisconsin’s 511 system. The advisory also includes the northwestern Tribal Lands of the Lac du Flambeau Band.
The weather service emphasizes that travelers should allow extra time for commutes and avoid unnecessary travel when possible. The advisory is set to expire at 6 a.m. Saturday.
