Ansonia, OH – Two people were injured Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 49 and State Route 47, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies, along with Ansonia Fire and Ansonia Rescue, responded around 2:28 p.m. after reports of a collision involving a Ford pickup and a semi-truck.

According to investigators, a white 2026 Ford F-150 driven by Bryan Calderhead, 50, of Norwich, Ohio, was traveling south on State Route 47 when he allegedly failed to yield at a posted stop sign. His vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a red 2014 Kenworth semi driven by Bradley Shafer, 35, of Union City, Ohio.

Deputies said the impact hit the Ford on its rear passenger side, causing it to leave the roadway while the Kenworth came to a stop.

Calderhead was transported to Wayne HealthCare by Ansonia Rescue with minor injuries, while Shafer was treated and released at the scene.

Authorities cited Calderhead for failure to yield after a clearly marked stop sign, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
