Ann Arbor, Michigan Police Department Issues July 4th Road Closure Alerts

Ann Arbor, MI – The Ann Arbor Police Department has announced significant road closures in preparation for the Fourth of July celebrations, including the Ann Arbor Jaycees Parade and the Firecracker 5K special event.

According to the department, Maynard Street between East Liberty and East William Streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to noon for the Firefighter Spray Park special event. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., several streets will be closed for the Ann Arbor Jaycees Fourth of July Parade. These include sections of South State Street, East Liberty Street, South Main Street, East William Street, and South Fourth Avenue, among others.

Additionally, from 4 to 11 a.m., streets closed for the Firecracker 5K will include portions of State, Monroe, Tappan, South University, Liberty, William, and Main.

The Ann Arbor Police Department reminds residents that their records section will be closed on July 4, 2024, in observance of the holiday. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly and use alternate routes to avoid delays. The department wishes everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July and looks forward to a successful celebration.
