Ann Arbor, MI – Residents in an Ann Arbor neighborhood reported hearing gunfire late Sunday night, prompting a large police response.

According to the Ann Arbor Police Department (AAPD), officers were dispatched around 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, to the area of Turnberry Lane and Ailsa Craig after multiple 911 calls came in about possible gunshots.

AAPD officers, assisted by the Pittsfield Township Police Department, conducted an extensive search of the neighborhood for over an hour. Despite the heavy police presence, no evidence of gunfire or related activity was discovered, authorities said.

Police have not confirmed whether any damage, shell casings, or witnesses were found in the area. As of early Monday, no arrests or injuries had been reported.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact AAPD at 734-794-6920, email tips@a2gov.org, or submit anonymous information through Silent Witness at https://aapd.a2gov.org/SilentWitness.

Residents near the scene said the search lasted more than an hour, with several police vehicles canvassing nearby streets. Authorities have not indicated if there will be increased patrols in the area this week.
