Pittsburgh, PA – A Beechview man who had been a fugitive for more than a week is now in custody after being arrested Thursday morning in Allegheny County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
According to Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus, 28-year-old Stev’Ray Norman was taken into custody after detectives located him at a construction site along Lynda Lane in North Versailles Township shortly after 11 a.m. Authorities said the arrest was made without incident, and Norman was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
Norman had been wanted for approximately 10 days following the issuance of a bench warrant on January 1, 2026, for allegedly violating probation tied to a prior firearms conviction. Court records show Norman pleaded guilty in 2024 to two firearms charges and was sentenced to 11½ to 23 months in jail, followed by two years of probation.
In addition to the probation violation, authorities say Norman is also facing two warrants for alleged violations of protection-from-abuse (PFA) orders. A third warrant was issued after he allegedly fled from City of Pittsburgh police officers who attempted to arrest him on the PFA-related warrants.
Sheriff’s Office detectives said they developed information earlier this week indicating Norman was working construction in eastern Allegheny County. Surveillance and coordination led investigators to the site Thursday morning, where he was positively identified and arrested.
Officials did not report any injuries or resistance during the arrest. No additional charges were announced Thursday, but officials said Norman remains held on multiple outstanding warrants.
Residents with concerns about active warrants or probation violations in their communities are encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
