Pittsburgh, PA – A Homewood man wanted on multiple warrants was taken into custody Saturday after deputies allegedly found him hiding inside a clothes dryer, according to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced that 32-year-old Devonta Youngblood was declared a fugitive three months ago after violating probation in a firearms case. Officials said Youngblood also had an active warrant out of West Mifflin for alleged indecent exposure and open lewdness.
According to authorities, detectives developed information last week that Youngblood was staying at a residence along Corey Avenue in Braddock. Deputies arrived Saturday afternoon and spoke with a woman who identified herself as Youngblood’s girlfriend. After receiving consent to search the residence, deputies allegedly discovered Youngblood hiding in a dryer in the basement.
He was arrested without further incident and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
Residents in the area described a heavy police presence Saturday but said the situation remained calm during the arrest. Authorities have not released further details on when Youngblood will appear in court.
