Huntsville, Alabama – Sunshine early Tuesday will give way to a soggy stretch across northern Alabama, as storms return to the Huntsville area by evening with rain chances rising to 80% overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop after 4 p.m. Tuesday, becoming more widespread through the night. Rain and thunder will linger into Wednesday, with continued storm chances of 60% to 80% across Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties.

Temperatures will remain mild, with highs in the mid-70s through Friday, but the unsettled pattern could lead to brief downpours, gusty winds, and localized ponding on roads. Low-lying areas near Big Spring Park and downtown Huntsville may experience brief flooding during heavier showers. Drivers are urged to use caution during commutes, especially during the late evening and early morning hours.

Daily storm chances will continue through Saturday, with rain probabilities ranging from 50% to 60% Thursday and Friday, and tapering slightly by the weekend. Residents should keep phones charged and monitor NOAA Weather Radio or local alerts for updates.

Thunderstorm chances persist each day through Saturday, with additional advisories possible as systems move through.
