Mobile, AL – A frost advisory has been issued for parts of Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, and southeast Mississippi, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 34°F early Friday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, the advisory is in effect from 3 AM to 8 AM CDT on Friday and covers multiple counties, including Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, and Covington in Alabama, as well as inland portions of northwest Florida and southeast Mississippi.
Residents are advised to protect sensitive outdoor plants, as frost formation could damage or kill unprotected vegetation. Agricultural areas and home gardens may be particularly at risk.
While these temperatures are uncommon for late March along the Gulf Coast, occasional cold snaps can still occur. Residents should take necessary precautions, including covering plants or bringing potted plants indoors.
Warmer temperatures are expected to return over the weekend, with highs reaching the upper 60s and 70s.
Stay updated with local weather alerts and take necessary steps to safeguard sensitive vegetation.
