Huntsville, Alabama – A steady warmup is underway across north Alabama, with temperatures climbing into the 80s by Tuesday, signaling a shift toward more spring conditions ahead of midweek rain.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, dry weather will hold through Sunday and Monday as southerly winds return, pushing highs from the upper 60s Sunday into the mid to upper 70s Monday. By Tuesday afternoon, temperatures are expected to reach between 77 and 83 degrees across the Tennessee Valley, including Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence.

Overnight lows will remain mild, ranging from 50 to 61 degrees, limiting any risk of frost and supporting a gradual warming trend. The dry stretch will provide ideal conditions for outdoor plans, though increasing humidity will signal changes ahead.

By Wednesday, rain chances return to the region, with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and evening hours. Roads along I-565 and Highway 72 could become slick during heavier bursts.

Residents should use the dry conditions early in the week to prepare for midweek rain, including checking drainage and planning travel around potential showers.

The warming trend peaks Tuesday before a more unsettled pattern develops Wednesday, with additional updates expected as rain timing becomes clearer.
