Huntsville, Alabama – Thunderstorms are expected to roll through Huntsville nearly every day this week, with the heaviest rain and possible flooding likely by Friday afternoon, potentially complicating evening travel and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, showers and thunderstorms will develop daily from Tuesday through Friday, with rain chances ranging from 50% to 80%. Tuesday’s storms will mostly arrive after 1 p.m., with another round possible Tuesday night. A brief lull Wednesday morning will give way to renewed storms after 10 a.m. and again after 1 p.m. Thursday.

Localized flooding could become an issue in low-lying areas and near drainage ditches, especially by Friday when rain chances peak at 80%. Daytime highs will stay warm, in the low 80s, with muggy, storm-prone afternoons. Winds remain calm, but any strong cells may bring gusts, lightning, and brief downpours.

Drivers in Madison County should watch for slick roads and give extra time during commutes. Outdoor activities may be interrupted, and power outages are possible in stronger storms. Keep devices charged and avoid flooded roads.

Rain and storm chances taper off slightly by Saturday, with sunnier skies returning Sunday. Additional weather alerts may be issued if conditions worsen.
