Huntsville, AL – Overnight temperatures in Huntsville are expected to plummet into the mid-20s, creating a risk of black ice on area roads. Though most roads are clear, the National Weather Service (NWS) warns of lingering ice in shaded or rural areas, especially during the morning commute.
According to the NWS Huntsville office, temperatures Monday night will dip as low as 26°F before warming to 43°F by Tuesday afternoon. Drivers are advised to exercise caution on rural and less-traveled routes, as isolated patches of black ice remain a concern. Use extra care near bridges and overpasses, where freezing tends to persist longer.
Tuesday will see sunny skies and light winds, with highs reaching the low-to-mid 40s. This warming trend is expected to continue through the week, with Wednesday’s high forecasted at 42°F and Thursday climbing to a seasonal 50°F. Nighttime lows, however, will remain cold, staying in the low 20s to low 30s through midweek.
By Friday, temperatures could reach 56°F, but showers are likely, with a 90% chance of rain forecast for Friday night. Drivers should prepare for slick conditions as wet weather returns to the region.
