4-Year-Old Girl Abducted in Rock Island, Amber Alert Activated Statewide

Rock Island, IL – Authorities have issued an Amber Alert after a 4-year-old girl was abducted Thursday morning in Rock Island.

The incident occurred around 6 a.m. near the intersection of 14th 1/2 Street and 13th Avenue. Police said the child, Blessing J. Aoci, was in the back seat of her mother’s car when an unknown suspect stole the vehicle. Blessing is described as a Black girl with twists in her black hair and brown eyes. She weighs 50 pounds and was wearing a pink jacket, blue pants, and pink boots.

According to the Illinois State Police, the vehicle was stolen after the mother left it running while inside a residence. The car was recovered shortly after at 9th Street and 14th Avenue, but Blessing was not found inside.

Authorities have activated the Illinois Amber Alert Notification System to aid the search. The alert applies to several counties, including Cook, Kane, Rock Island, and others. Police urge anyone with information to contact 9-1-1 immediately.

The suspect’s identity and motive remain unknown. Rock Island Police are working with state authorities and local departments to locate the child quickly. Officials emphasize the urgency of the matter and the importance of community assistance.

This Amber Alert will remain active until 10 a.m. unless updated by law enforcement.
