Davenport, IA – A 30-year-old man died Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash on East River Drive and Forest Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:12 p.m. when a Kia Soul heading east lost control, crossed the center line, and collided with a westbound Chevrolet Trailblazer.

According to Davenport Police, the Kia’s driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained critical injuries and died after being transported to a nearby hospital. The Chevrolet’s driver, a man wearing his seatbelt, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, pending family notifications. The Davenport Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

Local officials emphasize the importance of seatbelt use, as it often reduces the risk of fatal injuries.

Residents are urged to remain cautious while driving, particularly at night and during changing weather conditions. Police advise anyone with information about the crash to contact the department.
