Naperville, IL – A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon on the exterior of a single-family home in the 4300 block of Clearwater Lane. Naperville’s Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a call at 2:32 p.m. reporting visible smoke.
According to the Naperville Fire Department, the first fire engine arrived on the scene by 2:37 p.m. Firefighters observed smoke coming from the side of the house. They quickly evacuated a resident and stretched a hose line to contain the blaze. No fire spread into the home’s interior, and damage remained confined to the exterior.
Firefighters declared the fire under control within minutes. Crews stayed on-site for 30 more minutes to ensure the fire was fully extinguished. The Naperville Police Department and Electric Department provided assistance.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The home sustained an estimated $15,000 in damages. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the building was declared habitable by fire officials.
