Lockport, NY – A fatal rollover crash in Niagara County claimed the lives of two people Wednesday evening after a vehicle left the roadway and overturned multiple times.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 6:34 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the 5300 block of Ridge Road in the Town of Lockport. Authorities say multiple reports were received about a serious motor vehicle accident in the area.

Preliminary findings indicate a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette was traveling westbound on Ridge Road when it veered off the north side of the roadway, struck a culvert, and rolled over several times.

The driver, identified as an 83-year-old man from Cheektowaga, and the passenger, a 73-year-old woman from Williamsville, were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.

Emergency crews, including local fire departments and EMS, responded to the crash. The roadway was impacted as first responders worked to secure the scene and begin the investigation.

Authorities have not released additional details about what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit is continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
