Nebraska Braces for Severe Weather Threat Tonight and Tuesday

Omaha, NE – The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather threat for today and Tuesday, with potential for thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes.

According to the NWS, there is a 50-80% chance of thunderstorms tonight, with some possibly being severe. Hail over one inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 60 mph are expected. The highest risk timeframe is from 7 PM to 6 AM.

On Tuesday, the threat level increases, with a 60-90% chance of thunderstorms and hail over two inches in diameter. Wind gusts could reach 70 mph, and tornadoes are possible. The greatest threat will be from 10 AM to 2 PM. Residents are urged to stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive alerts.
