LOWELL, IN – A teen previously the subject of an Iowa Amber Alert, has been located and found safe in Indiana.

According to Indiana State Police on Wednesday evening, at around 9:30 p.m., Lowell Regional Dispatch Center was alerted about an ongoing Amber Alert from Iowa. The Iowa State Patrol provided intel that the person in question could be near the Indiana Welcome Center off I-80 at Kennedy Ave.

A Trooper close to the scene subsequently spotted the car leaving the Hampton Inn and initiated a stop. Inside, two individuals matched the Amber Alert descriptions.

Jessica Rae Williams, 36, the driver and non-custodial parent from Des Moines, IA, was arrested without resistance. Her daughter, 14-year-old Nina Williams, was safely recovered from the vehicle. Jessica is now awaiting extradition to Iowa from Lake County Jail. Meanwhile, Nina, who has special care needs, has been entrusted to Child Protective Services for the interim.

Gratitude was expressed by the Indiana State Police to both local and Iowa-based law enforcement agencies for their collaboration in resolving the Amber Alert.
