La Porte County, IN – La Porte County Sheriff’s Department successfully apprehended an armed fugitive during a blizzard in Indiana. The pursuit, which unfolded in the early hours of the morning, showcased the determination and resourcefulness of local law enforcement under challenging conditions.

According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence on Dorothy Lane around 9:30 AM, aware that Beck A. Serles, a 26-year-old wanted individual, was believed to be staying there. Upon arrival, Serles fled the scene, leading to an immediate pursuit by the officers. Despite blizzard-like conditions, deputies tracked Serles using footprints in the fresh snow, eventually locating him hiding in a storage structure on Lura Lane.

Serles, who initially resisted arrest, was eventually apprehended without incident.

Serles faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, residential entry, resisting law enforcement, and a Marshall County warrant for theft. Currently, Serles is being held in the La Porte County Jail without bond.
