Ghost Gun Leads to Arrest of Three Teens in East Chicago Shooting Incident

East Chicago, IN – Three 15-year-old juveniles were arrested following a shots-fired incident on Tuesday morning in East Chicago.

According to the East Chicago Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Evergreen Street after a ShotSpotter alert detected four rounds fired. Witnesses reported seeing juveniles discharging a firearm and fleeing to a nearby residence.

Police located the juveniles in the residence, along with a 9mm “Ghost” Glock gun with no serial number. The juveniles were arrested for criminal recklessness and unauthorized possession of a firearm. They were transported to the Lake County Juvenile Center for processing. No injuries or property damage were reported.
