Fort Wayne, Indiana – A late-night shooting in Fort Wayne left one woman dead and four others injured, prompting an ongoing investigation and a search for a suspect, according to police.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers responded around 11:16 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, to reports of gunfire near Abbott Street and Drexel Avenue on the city’s southeast side. When officers arrived, they located five victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, identified as 20-year-old Latisha Greene, was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Police said Greene later died from her injuries on Sunday, April 12. The other four victims were treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Investigators with the department’s Homicide Unit have since identified 21-year-old David E. Hunter Jr. as a suspect in the case. Authorities said a warrant has been issued for his arrest in connection with the shooting. Police allege Hunter Jr. was involved in the incident, though details surrounding the events leading up to the shooting have not been fully released.

The shooting remains under investigation as detectives work to determine a motive and gather additional evidence. Officials are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect or providing any relevant information.
