Benton County, IN – Authorities Probe Suspected Arson

Earl Park, IN – A suspicious house fire broke out at 107 S. Spring Street in Earl Park, Indiana, late Wednesday evening. Firefighters from the Earl Park/Richland Township Fire Department responded swiftly after the blaze was reported by a passing motorist at 8:12 p.m. The house, which was unoccupied and had no active utilities, was quickly engulfed in flames.

According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, multiple fire departments, including those from Boswell, Grant Township, Fowler, Center Township, Kentland, and others, assisted in containing the fire. Despite their efforts, the fire continued to burn into the early hours of Thursday morning, leaving the structure completely destroyed. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire, which is currently deemed suspicious. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office, along with local fire departments, is actively involved in the investigation.
