New Lenox, IL – Older adults in New Lenox have a delightful opportunity to stay active and make new friends this summer with the return of the “Seniors With Sole” walking program.

Sponsored by the New Lenox Safe Community Coalition and its Older Adults Falls Prevention Task Group, the program invites seniors to gather at the New Lenox Commons for morning walks. The sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, starting June 4 and running through July 25.

According to the organizers, registration is free and will be available on-site on June 4 and June 6 at the stage of the performing arts pavilion, located near the New Lenox Village Hall at 1 Veterans Parkway. Each morning will begin with a light stretching session, followed by a walking activity that allows participants to set personal goals in terms of laps, distance, or time. Comfortable walking shoes and hydration are recommended for all participants.

An added incentive includes a raffle, with entries provided at each attended session, culminating in a drawing for various prizes on the final day, July 25. Participants must be present to win. For more information, interested individuals can contact Daniel Martin, Safe Community Coordinator, at (815) 462-6493 or via email at dmartin@newlenox.net.
