CHICAGO, IL – People from across the globe have rallied behind the family of six-year-old Wadea Al-Fayoume, raising close to $300,000 following a horrific hate crime this weekend. Wadea was fatally attacked in his home, with his mother, Hanaan Shahin, sustaining severe injuries.
A fundraiser, “Support the Family of Our Departed Angel, Wadea Al-Fayoume,” orchestrated by Ahmed Rehab, has garnered the support of over 4,000 donors, reaching 96% of its goal within a short span. The funds will aid in Wadea’s Janazah, cover Hanaan’s medical expenses, ensure she has a safe home to return to, and establish a charity in Wadea’s memory.
