Tinley Park, IL – A Tinley Park resident was arrested on charges of child pornography possession after a detailed investigation.

Noah McGonigal, 19, faces allegations stemming from a search at his previous home, where illicit materials were discovered. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children initially flagged McGonigal to local authorities in June 2022, leading to an extensive inquiry by the Tinley Park Police and the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This culminated in a raid on April 19, 2023, at his former Oleander Avenue residence.

According to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, McGonigal’s cell phone was seized during the search, and a forensic analysis revealed files depicting child pornography. He has been charged with a Class 2 felony, with potential additional charges pending. McGonigal is currently held at the Tinley Park Police Department, awaiting a custody hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse scheduled for today.

Interim Police Chief Tom Tilton commented on the ongoing efforts to protect children in the community, highlighting the coordinated work between local police and the Cook County task force.
