OAK BROOK, IL — A Chicago man accused of an armed robbery targeting a woman and her infant in Schaumburg has been denied pre-trial release.
Jaquan Wilkins, 28, faces multiple charges, including Illegal Possession of a Firearm and Aggravated Fleeing, following a police chase in Oak Brook. The incident, occurring on November 9, involved Wilkins allegedly fleeing from police in a gray Mazda 6, discarding a loaded Glock 9mm during the pursuit.
The chase ended after Wilkins crashed into an unmarked police car. Wilkins was previously on bond for Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 4.
State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Police Chief Brian Strockis emphasized the cooperation among law enforcement agencies in apprehending Wilkins, ensuring community safety.
