According to the Normal Police Department, the school received a call around 8:00 a.m. on May 5, 2026, reporting a potential threat. The situation raised immediate safety concerns, leading McLean County Unit 5 School District officials to activate established emergency protocols.

Authorities say students and staff were safely and orderly relocated while officers secured the campus. Police confirmed there were no immediate reports of injuries as a result of the incident.
