Lake County, IL – Ongoing Investigation After Armed Robbery in Beach Park

Beach Park, IL – Detectives from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store in Beach Park. 

According to Lake County Sheriff reports the incident, which took place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, around 11:35 a.m., prompted a swift response from deputies to the 37700 block of North Green Bay Road. A suspect described as possibly Hispanic, wearing a yellow coat, tan pants, and gloves, demanded cash at gunpoint and fled. A K9 unit tracked the suspect to a dead-end where the trail ended, suggesting a vehicle escape. 

An investigation into the case is ongoing.
