Lafayette, IN – Indiana State Police apprehended Dawn Goodroad, 38, of South Dakota, following a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 65 that started late Thursday night near Lafayette.
According to State Police reports the incident began when a trooper responded to a 9-1-1 call about a reckless driver, attempted to stop Goodroad’s 2015 GMC Yukon on State Road 26 for a traffic violation. Despite initial attempts, Goodroad reportedly failed to comply, leading to a chase that continued northbound until it concluded safely at the 179-mile marker.
Preliminary findings indicated Goodroad was possibly under the influence. She now faces several charges, including a Level 6 felony for resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction.
