Kankakee, Illinois – Families preparing for a new baby or raising young children will have a chance to connect with local healthcare experts and resources during a free community event this weekend.
According to Riverside Healthcare, the annual “Baby & Beyond Fair” will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Riverside Healthcare Pavilion on North Wall Street. The event is open to expectant parents, those planning a pregnancy, and families with young children.
Organizers say the fair is designed to provide hands-on learning and direct access to support services during early stages of parenting. Attendees can take part in interactive presentations covering topics such as infant CPR, postpartum depression, and understanding a child’s healthcare team.
The event will also include guided tours of Riverside’s Family Birthing Center, giving families a closer look at where deliveries and early care take place. Healthcare providers will be on-site to answer questions and help families better understand available services.
In addition to medical education, the fair will feature community vendors, local organizations, and family-friendly activities. Food vendors and giveaways are also planned throughout the morning.
Hospital leaders say the goal is to help families feel more confident as they navigate pregnancy and early childhood. The event is structured to serve both first-time parents and those already raising young children who may be looking for additional resources or updated information.
Riverside Healthcare serves multiple counties in the region, including Kankakee, Will, Iroquois, and Grundy, and officials say events like this help strengthen connections between providers and the communities they serve.
The Baby & Beyond Fair is free to attend, though registration is encouraged in advance. More information is available through Riverside Healthcare’s website.
