Morris Man Arrested after Allegedly Attacking Dwight Police Officer

Dwight, IL — A Morris man, Derek Greenberg, was arrested in Dwight Sunday after allegedly attacking a police officer while intoxicated. 

According to Dwight Police reports it began in the 300 block of East Mazon Ave, where Greenberg was initially reported to be causing a disturbance by yelling and knocking on windows.

When a Dwight police officer responded to the scene, Greenberg reportedly assaulted the officer. After a brief chase, he was apprehended by a Livingston County Sheriff Deputy without further incident. 

Greenberg now faces charges of Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer and is being held at the Livingston County Jail. The officer involved was treated and released from Morris Hospital.
