Tampa, Florida – A 26-year-old man is now facing additional charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, in a case tied to the deaths of two individuals connected to a missing persons investigation in the Tampa Bay area.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect allegedly faces two counts of first-degree murder with a weapon (premeditated) in connection with the deaths of Zamil Limon, 27, and Nahida Bristy, 27. Authorities said the new charges were filed after evidence was presented to the State Attorney’s Office.
Officials said the case began as a missing persons investigation involving Limon, a University of South Florida graduate student, and Bristy. Detectives later located Limon’s remains in Pinellas County near the Howard Frankland Bridge, expanding the investigation across county lines.
Investigators identified the suspect, who was reportedly Limon’s roommate, as a person of interest early in the case. According to deputies, the suspect allegedly barricaded himself inside a residence on Pine Glen Circle on Friday morning before being taken into custody following a response involving SWAT and other specialized units.
In addition to the murder charges, the suspect allegedly faces multiple counts including unlawfully holding or moving a dead human body, failure to report a death, tampering with evidence, false imprisonment, and battery.
Authorities said the search for Bristy is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials noted the investigation remains active, and Limon’s cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
