
ORLAND PARK – Two men were arrested Friday after the Orland Park Police Department’s Targeted Response Unit responded to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Orland Square Mall.
According to Orland Park Police, officers spoke with occupants before taking notice of the smell of cannabis and noticing a firearm on the floorboards of the vehicle.
A search reportedly discovered a 9mm Polymer “ghost gun” with extended and a Glock .45 caliber handgun with and extended magazine in the pocket of the driver’s side door. Officers also recovered 14 grams of cannabis outside of legal packaging inside the vehicle during the stop.

Police arrested 21-year-old Alexander Syverson of Monee and his passenger, 20-year-old Aundrake Parks Jr. of University Park on alleged charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, a Class 4 Felony.
Both men were held on $10,000 bond.
