Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound Leads to Fatal Illinois Crash

Oswego Township, Kendall County, IL – County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash scene Monday around 5:49 AM at the intersection of Saugatuck Rd and Douglas Rd in Oswego Township.

According to reports, the call was in response to a single-vehicle traffic crash, and upon arrival, deputies discovered a lone individual inside the vehicle, suffering from what appeared to be a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

Reports indicate despite immediate medical attention, the individual’s life could not be saved, and they were pronounced deceased after being transported to a nearby hospital.  The identification of the driver has not yet been released.

Authorities suggest no foul play in this tragic incident, the investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department has not released any further details.
